Candidate FAQs

  • If you are interested in working for Anthony Nolan, but there don't appear to be any jobs that are suitable right now/you were unsuccessful in a particular process, by connecting with us you will be kept in the loop for any relevant new vacancies as and when they are advertised. You can also answer some additional questions to allow us to get to know you better!

  • If you are having problems applying online, please email us at recruitment@anthonynolan.org and we will try to solve the problem for you.

  • The purpose of the cover letter is for us to understand more about why you are interested in Anthony Nolan, and what makes you a great fit to this role specifically. We'd always recommend doing some research into our organisation (there's lots of info on our main website) and thoroughly reading the job description before applying, so that you can draw on specific examples of areas that interest you and skills/experience you have that might match the role requirements.

  • Unfortunately, we are not currently able to provide sponsorship for visas or work permits, and as such can not consider applicants who aren't able to obtain the right to work in the UK themselves.

  • Once you have submitted an application, you should receive a confirmation email. If this hasn't come through, please first check your junk mail box. If you still can't find the confirmation, please email us at recruitment@anthonynolan.org, specifying the role you are applying to, and we will check for you.

  • Unless stated otherwise in the advert, all roles will close at midnight on the closing date.

Sometimes we might extend this date, but we will never close the role earlier than advertised.

If we are delaying the closing date significantly, we will do our best to let you know if this means there will be a delay in processing your application.

  • The closing date will be displayed right at the bottom of the advert along with other information like the department, location etc.

If there is no closing date in this section, we should have mentioned in the body of the advert that we will be reviewing and interviewing applicants on a rolling basis and will close the advert without warning. If this is the case, we'd always encourage you to apply ASAP to ensure you don't miss out on the opportunity.

If you have any queries around the status of the role and likely timeframe, please email recruitment@anthonynolan.org, or contact the hiring manager to check.

  • We strive to contact all candidates within 2 weeks of the closing date of a role. However, there are occasions where the volume of applications means the shortlisting process can take longer than expected. We will endeavour to contact you if this is the case, but please bear with us.

  • If you have been unsuccessful at interview, we will be happy to provide you with feedback. When we contact you with the outcome of your interview, please respond to the email and request feedback (if not already offered). We will then do our best to provide this within a reasonable timeframe.

  • Hybrid working arrangements and expectations vary significantly across different teams at Anthony Nolan. We have some teams working full-time on site in a hospital or a lab, some who work most of the week from our offices, and some who only need to come in a few times a month, if that. This flexibility is important to us, but we also want most roles to spend some time on site with their teams to foster collaboration and strong relationships.

We aim to make it clear on the advert for each role what the expectation would be for that specific team - this can be found at the bottom of the advert on our career site, if not seen within the body of the advert text.

  • Take a look at our Life at Anthony Nolan page for an overview of some of our key work perks.
