We are looking for a Bioinformatics Research Scientist to join our Bioinformatics team.
Title: Bioinformatics Research Scientist
Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 35 per week (standard Anthony Nolan working hours)
Location: Anthony Nolan Research Institute, Research Laboratories, Hampstead, London

Job Summary
We are looking for a bioinformatics scientist with an interest in innovation to join our team to work on internationally recognised database, the IPD-IMGT/HLA and IPD-KIR databases.
The role will focus on two key areas, firstly developing our internal analysis and public deployment pipelines to add resilience and reproducibility, and second build new public facing tools for the database. The role may also have opportunities to contribute technical support to other projects within the team.
We primarily use Python and SQL, so experience of this is essential. Additional knowledge of databases such as Oracle and MongoDB as well as experience in web development and Linux environments would be advantageous.
Essential Attributes
• Bioinformatics MSc or Computer Science BSc (or equivalent)
• Experience programming in Python
• Familiarity with SQL and MongoDB
• Experience with web development – Flask, html, JavaScript (desirable)
• Experience with containers – Docker, Kubernetes (desirable)
• Familiarity with Agile software development methods and practices (desirable)
